Day 1 - Move 6 (Night)
Weather - Fine
The overall situation at the end of move 6 on day 1.
Continued -
Zooming in on the positions following the battle of Kasos, The surviving British boats head for Cyprus (red 4). The victorious German T-Boat flotilla (blue 5) had been concerned about the activity of the small British force and intended to land a naval party on Kasos to establish if any landing had been made. High Command were more concerned about Allied activity at sea and they were therefore instructed to resume their patrol. An Arado floatplane would be tasked with over-flying Kasos at first light.
The T-Boat commander elected to follow the surviving British boats in the hope of finishing them off. Radio intercepts identified their location but the German lookouts failed to sight them in the dark.
No further radio intercepts were made of the British force, red 3, and therefore the Axis forces spread themselves across the likely track they will take.
Day 2 - Move 1 (night)
Weather - Fine
The overall situation.
The Commandos on Kasos prepare for the worst as several small vessels (blue 11) approach the island. They need not have worried as the Italians were merely patrolling the area. Having lost the British MGB's, the German T-Boat flotilla (blue 5) resumes its patrol.
Radio chatter is once again picked up identifying the Allied force (red 3). The Axis forces sail immediately to intercept. These consist of the German Cruiser lead flotilla (blue 1) and the Italian Cruiser lead flotilla (blue 2). A U-Boat lurks to the south (blue 4).
Both sides sight each other and all ships move to 'Action Stations'.
As it took only 1/2 a move to make contact there are still 2 hours before daylight.
NEXT - The Naval Battle of Cyprus
Note: I have a few more ships to paint so it will be a few days before this battle is fought on the tabletop. It will be 1/3000th scale ships using General Quarters 3 rules.
