Hobby time has been in short supply over the past month. Trebia is on the tabletop and being played through, albeit slowly!
More progress has been made on my AWI project and I felt it was time for an update. All the British have been completed and the final batch of around 100 Americans are being painted. Lexington & Concord require a little over 600 figures. A small action in 6mm!

| American militia. Here with 3 per 15mm x 15mm base for open order. Some will be operating as tiny units and as such will look better on the table having 2 x 3 figure bases side-by-side rather than a single 6 figure base. I should have considered some of this basing method for the British light infantry operating as skirmishers but rather than delay the game to buy and paint more figures, I will run with what I have for now. |

DeleteGreat work there Jon:)! I agree that the skirmishing units look great as 3 figures per base, so hope you get chance to do the same for the British Light Infantry. Even though the 'loose files' was quickly adopted, I like the easy visual distinction between Line and Light as shown here.

DeleteSuper stuff, the facing colours and matching colours are a triumph in this scale. Talking of scale, 48-figure battalions means a really low figure:man ratio of circa. 1:10?
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Rob. The figure:man ratio is in the region of 1:8. I anticipate for future games those large units will be broken down to 36 figure standard battalions and where appropriate, 24 figure small units.
